BBC Four celebrates the best in foreign language filmmaking with this annual prize. A panel of judges will choose the winner from a shortlist of six films nominated by the UK's leading critics, film-school heads and festival directors. Jonathan Ross will reveal the winner on Thursday 25 January, in a ceremony at the National Film Theatre in London - shown live on BBC Four.

Almodóvar at his finest. Here he directs Penélope Cruz in a funny, tense and ultimately touching tale of three generations of women dealing with dark secrets.
