A change in attitude needed ...

Working here in one of the reputed places of Pakistani origin makes me think a lot about our fellow nationals. I have noticed that our Pakistani ppl are ever impressed with any other nationality except of their own ... be it any situation. I remember once a Paki customer came to me n when I went thru his documents I found that they were incomplete. I requested him very humbly that you need to get them completed enabling me to get your work done faster. But that guy started yelling, mind you he was an old man, & shouting that since 2 hours I am here every time you ask me to bring something for you & this is my third round in your workplace. I responded that to me you came only once & I told you what do I need to regularize my work so please dont talk un-necessary things about me. To hide his embarrasment, he started bad mouthing our place that Pakistanis are always like this like that & I had to interrupt in between to keep his mouth shut. Then I had to speak to him in a stern voice to keep him slow & in my heart it was very annoying for me that I have to scold someone of my father's age but this is it what he deserved. He went away & then did all his work & I finished his job in 7 minutes.

If he had listened to me in the first instance only plus without saying bad things about Pakistani fellows n workplaces ... I am sure he could have saved himself from all these embarrasments ... a change in attitude for all is needed

Today I saw one another person. He talked to me on phone for about 10 minutes I gave all his replies & invited him to visit us in our workplace. When he came ... just let me give you my dialouges with him & just try to understand how demanding that customer was & how unthankful he was towards his country-representator.

Customer: I want to open a bank account in Pakistan
GK: Okay fine. Please bring your passport copy + new CNIC copy & I'll open your account with 1000 QAR (Equv 16,370/-) & we'll charge you for DHL services only which is QAR 50/- & please bring one introducer with you either of our bank or some other bank & we'll arrange your cheque book + deposit receipt + ATM card here only.

Customer: QAR 1000/- is too much of money as an initial deposit. Other banks are opening with lesser amount.
GK: All banks have their own set of procedures & ours is different too. Let me ensure you that if you keep this much of amount in your account as initial balance you wont be charged with low balance charges which is PKR 50/-p.m if the amount goes less than PKR 10,000/-

Customer: What are the facilities you'll give to me?
GK: Cheque book + Deposit receipt + ATM cards (if needed) all in Qatar & you can collect them at your convenience.

Customer: But you are going to charge me for all these things so this cant be called as a facility (with a cunning smile)
GK: Gentleman, you have to notice that we are;
1. Opening your account in Pakistan right here with just 1 introducer
2. We are giving your remittance facility from our bank FREE OF CHARGE to your branch back in Pakistan where your money reaches within record 24 hours.
3. We'll be ordering Cheque book + deposit receipts + ATM card/s for you right here.
4. We'll give you internet banking which is again free of charge
5. You can transfer amounts from your account to any other account your own self.

Customer: But you are charging me DHL QAR 50/-
GK: Okay I was just trying to save your money. Fine if you dont want to pay us this amount you can send your papers on your own where they will charge you QAR 80/- to QAR 100/- for their DHL services plus you'll be tracking your case yourself. Its no problem for us ... we always want to see our customers happy. I'll NOT charge you anything but I'll simply get your formalities completed & you have to send it on your own.

The customer looked a little embarrased over his own loud mouthing. Well he took away the stuff from him & went away saying 'I'll come back'

Guyz this was just another case of being unthankful towards your community banks ...

well u r right in both cases but tell u what i have account in mcb they charge pkr 10000 when u r opening account n amount is deducted when ur balance is less than 10000 i dont the the reason of the behaviour of ur customer that why he did this at that moment
1. he had not enough money at that moment
2. he was interested in opening account but he was not feeling comfortable to open account because it was not necassary for him (so he thought then why should i block enough money)
3. he found out another bank more comfortable
for 1. leave him
for 2. slap him
for 3. kill him

PKR 10,000/- is not supposed to be blocked rather it is taken in your account only as initial balance & if the amount falls below from this initial deposit the bank charges some amount, in our case we charge PKR 50/- per month
