This story is about Religious Persecution

"I grew up in a nice suburban neighborhood in Orange County, California. I wasn't raised with any religion at all - we had Christmas and Easter candy, but that was about it.

Starting in Junior High school, many girls - and exclusively GIRLS - would tease me, insult me, and throw things at me in the halls because I was "going to hell." They would tell me that "God loves me" but then tell me that I somehow deserved to go to hell!
The girls were allowed to talk about their faith in school, which is fine - but they used this to write poems and stories about HELL, which they would read in front of the class looking right at me. Everyone looked at me and after class would say "is it TRUE you're not a Christian?" as though they expected everyone else to be.
Then they would begin to describe hell to me, telling me about the eternal torment I faced if I didn't think like them. When I told them I didn't want to believe that they called me stupid, a sinner, and pestered me all day long.
One girl sent me notes in class every day about hell. Nothing positive - just threats!
Another girl would point and encourage her friends to throw food and wadded-up papers, calling me a sinner and a lesbian. They even insulted my MOTHER, telling me that I had bad parents who were also going to hell!
At one point, THREE girls PHYSICALLY held me against a wall and surrounded me, calling me a "sinner" and a "lesbian" (I didn't even know what that word meant!) and telling me I was going to hell and I deserved it. I deserved it??? They said that being a sinner was my natural state, but that THEY were better than me. They laughed and threw food at me and said that I would always be a "sinner". I was only 12 or 13 years old, how could I understand this? I had never ever imagined that other people, people I hoped would be nice to me, would see me this way.
The worst was "ha ha, I'm going to Heaven and YOU'RE NOT!!"
This girl was a real snob.
I became afraid to go to school, knowing that so many of the girls there thought that I was a bad person and that they were better than me.
I am a shy but social person and I like having friends. Some of the girls were nice to me but they told me that they couldn't ever be my "real friend" or let me come over after school because they "wouldn't be friends with anyone who wasn't a Christian."


What makes me the most sad looking back is, that someone had to have TAUGHT these girls to do this.
Years later I accepted Christ and started going to church, only to realize to my horror that nearly every church I attended - about 10 of them - were the same, encouraging their members to have an "us and them" attitude about people, viewing members of other faiths as neccessarily damned. Once they even said "ALL people are God's creatures, but ONLY CHRISTIANS are God's children"!!! I was shocked and offended, because I read the Bible and love Jesus and HE never said anything like that!

I couldn't believe it was true and renounced the religion immediately.
But after that, I understood that those mean girls were literally groomed and trained to look at me as a lesser person"

Its really sad, i hope parents teach their children to b tolerant and loving. it wasnt the girls fault that she had no religion. if race or gender doesnt make a person different than neither does religion...
