How you can Change The Recycle Bin's Name?

You can change the name of Recycle Bin of your system if you wish. It is very easy and interesting but it require some changes in windows registry,

First click on Start button > click on Run option.
Type here regedit.exe and press enter then you will find there regedit editor.
In regedit editor you will open HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT folder, In this folder open the CLSID folder then open the {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} folder >ShellFolder folder at last.
Here simply change the data value from "40 01 00 20" to "70 01 00 20".
After performing all above steps restart your computer then you will find option to rename Recycle name after right clicking on Recycle Bin Icon. Now you can change new name as you wish.

Step 1: Take a large sized food can/tin which are commonly available in your kitchen containing pineapple or sweet corn! Remove the cover wash it and dry it.
Step 2: Make a rectangular opening in the can whose center is L cm from the base of the can. If you are anywhere in Pakistan except Peshawar L = 3.81cm while if you are using EVO in Peshawar you will need L = 0.95cm these values have been calculated keeping frequency of operation in mind and as mentioned earlier frequency of operation is different for Peshawar while for rest of the country it is the same.
After boring the hole it should look something like this:
Step 3: Now take a wide tape and cover the hole with it atleast thrice to make it strong.
Step 4: Now at the exact center of the hole make a small cut a straight line with a sharp blade equal to the size of the width of your EVO device. Now insert the device into the can through this opening doing so will show you why we used the wide tape. Plug the device with a USB extension cable to your PC and adjust the position of the device for maximum signals.Step 5: See the signal Bar on your EVO Connection Software and adjust the location of the can for maximum signals, if you know the location of PTCL tower near you face it towards it with its open end towards the tower.
I tested this for the first time in Rawalpindi where I was getting just one signal and the signals elevated a great deal see the following screen shots:

How to Make an EVDO Signal Booster?

PTCL EVO is no doubt one of PTCL�s best services but it does have a major signal problem. If you live in such a corner of city where you are not able to get much signals it can be hectic especially when it rains the signals are attenuated up to a great deal. After a lot of research and analysis of different antennas for EVDO which can be made at home I formulated the EVO tin Antenna it did increase the signal strength but I was still exploring options to make some simple antenna booster or signal enhancer until I came up with this design! To build this EVDO Signal Booster follow the following steps:
Step 1: You will need an aluminum foil and a medium sized cardbord box as shown in the figure below. Both these things are commonly available in the common market or you might just just find them at home.Step 2: Cut the box in the form shown in the figure below. Make sure that the two sides are exactly equal so that they form a corner in between.
Step 3: Now wrap aluminum foil around the two equal sides such that it is closely warped from the end. This foil wrapped on an equal side cardboard acts as a square corner reflector antenna. If you want more technical details on how this works you can contact me
Step 4: Now mark a line diagonally from the corner towards the outwards direction upto 2″ this value has been calculated keeping EBDO frequency (i.e. 1900MHz) of operation in mind (If you are using EVO in Peshawar mark the line at 6″ because EVO operates at 450MHz in Peshawar) Place the EVO device in the location marked in the image. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE OTHER CORNER OF THE DEVICE MUST FACE THE PTCL TOWER. You can find out about the tower either by asking PTCL or by hit and trial method.

5 Notebook tools while on the go
For many these days, a notebook computer is an essential travel companion. But the computer itself is usually just the first tech tool you'll need in order to get your work done or to stay connected while you're away. What else is essential? Read on for some answers.

Adapters and chargers.
No matter how long your notebook's battery lasts, you'll have to charge it at some point. So don't forget your power cable. Beyond that, though, you'll need a power plug adapter if you're traveling to a country that uses a different power plug than the one you use at home.

Most power bricks that come with notebook computers can automatically sense the voltage necessary to run the machine, regardless of where you are in the world. But, if you're traveling abroad, you may still need a simple adapter to convert your plug into the one used in your destination.

If you're also taking along your smartphone, you'll need to charge it frequently, probably every day. You can probably charge it directly from your notebook by obtaining a simple USB cable that goes from your phone's power jack to a USB port in your notebook. Be sure to pack the cord -- it'll save you from having to take or purchase a more expensive power adapter for the phone.

Remote control account.
If your notebook computer is not your main machine, chances are that you'll leave some essential file or email message at home. That's where a remote access service like Logmein.com can be a life-saver.

Logmein is free, and with it you can use your internet-connected notebook to access your main computer just as if you were sitting in front of it. Before you leave, use your main machine to create a Logmein account, install the unobtrusive client software, and practice accessing your machine from your notebook.

Once logged in, you'll be able to use your main machine's email program to send yourself a file or some other information you may have forgotten. Just remember to leave your main computer turned on. And if you live in an area that experiences power outages, buy an uninterruptable power supply (UPS) for your home machine to keep it running in case the power goes out briefly.

Communication tools.
Don't forget to load your notebook up with any software you need to stay connected. For aggregating instant messaging and social networking accounts, you can't go wrong with Digsby (http://www.digsby.com), which will keep you connected with friends or colleagues through AIM, Yahoo Instant Messenger, Windows Live, Twitter, and many other social networking services -- all through one interface.

Skype can also be essential, especially if you find yourself unable or, because of cost, unwilling to use your mobile or smartphone in your destination. Get a Skype account that allows you to call conventional landline or cell phones as well as other users of Skype. The cost is minimal.

To use Skype, you will need a microphone -- and a webcam if you wish to perform video calls. Many notebook computers today have a microphone built in, and some have a webcam. If yours does not, you can purchase an inexpensive but adequate USB-based headset microphone from most electronics or computer stores.

Or, if you wish to be able to make video calls, get a webcam with a built-in microphone. Test Skype out before you leave. The service will often automatically detect any microphone or webcam on your notebook, so configuration is typically a snap.

Sending photos
If a digital camera is one of your travel accessories, be sure to take along any cable necessary to connect it to your notebook. With some cameras, that cable will also act as a charger, so with it you may be able to lighten up on extra batteries.

If you transfer your travel photos to your notebook, wouldn't it be nice to be able to send them to friends or family back home? There are a few ways to do this. One is to use a free blogging service like Blogger. Create your blog in a couple of clicks, upload photos as you create them, and simply share the link with friends and family.

Or you could create a photo gallery on a popular photo sharing site such as Flickr and, again, simply share the link to your gallery. If you'd rather share your photographs by email, consider a program that automates the the job of resizing and attractively displaying your photos in the body of your message. SendPhotos (http://www.sendphotos.com) is perfect for this.

External devices.
An external USB stick or thumb drive -- or an external hard disk -- can be essential for a number of reasons. You might run out of space on your notebook, so you can use the external drive to offload files. You could -- and probably should -- also have an external drive to back up your computer each day. After all, on the road, your notebook is more susceptible to misfortune -- including theft. It's one thing to lose your notebook but quite another to lose the data on it.

If you're a music lover and want to use your notebook to play music as you enjoy a pleasant evening, a portable, USB-based external speaker such as Altec Lansing's Orbit will transform your machine into a decent-sounding stereo - just the thing to turn those nights away from home into something enjoyable and relaxing.

In order to use the Internet Explorer (IE) effectively, we have some basic tips for you to try� Ok let's go now.

1. To extend the window area of the IE, you can make it easy by pressing the F11 key. Then you press it again in order to return the IE to the normal window.

2. Sometimes you want to search a keyword in a long web page that you are surfing. How do you do ?? Just press Ctrl+F and place the keyword you want.

3. Using Backspace key in your keyboard instead of clicking Back in the IE window.

4. You can close your IE window that you are surfing by Ctrl+W.

5. To see the surfing websites history, Press F4 key to see the URL which you have typed.

6. Press Ctrl+D in order to save the URL which you are surfing. And the URL will be in the Favorites.

7. To send a web page to your friend. Do you know we can send it by email from the IE's tools ? Let you try it, go to File > Send > Page by E-mail...

8. To slide the web page by using the keyboard, try it with the arrow keys. To slide it to the bottom and the top of the web page, try the End and Home key.

9. If you find a picture that you prefer it to be the desktop wallpaper, you can immediately set it, right click on the picture area and select the Set as wallpaper.

10. To slide the web page gradually, you may use the Page up, Page down and Space bar keys. Try it !

7 tips for working securely from wireless hot-spots.

Wireless hotspots are changing the way people work. These wireless local area networks (LANs) provide high speed Internet connection in public locations�as well as at home�and need nothing more than a mobile PC such as a laptop or notebook computer equipped with a wireless card.

In fact, hotspots are an everyday connection method for travelers and remote workers to browse the Internet, check their e-mail, and even work on their corporate networks while away from the office.

Hotspots range from paid services, such as T-Mobile or Verizon Wireless, to public, free connections. Hot spots are everywhere, including:

Coffee shops
Restaurants
Libraries
Bookstores
Airports
Hotel lobbies

But they all have one thing in common�they are all open networks that are vulnerable to security breaches. And that means it's up to you to protect the data on your PC. In this article, we cover a few tips to make working in public locations more secure.

Try to choose more secure connections

It's not always possible to choose your connection type�but when you can, opt for wireless networks that require a network security key or have some other form of security, such as a certificate. The information sent over these networks is encrypted, which can help protect your computer from unauthorized access. The security features of different networks appear along with the network name as your PC discovers them.

Make sure your firewall is activated

A firewall helps protect your mobile PC by preventing unauthorized users from gaining access to your computer through the Internet or a network. It acts as a barrier that checks all incoming information, and then either blocks the information or allows it to come through. All Microsoft Windows operating systems come with a firewall, and you can make sure it's turned on.
To activate the Windows Vista Firewall

Click Start and then click Control Panel.
In Control Panel, click Network and Internet.
Under Windows Firewall, click Turn Windows Firewall on or off.
Ensure that On is selected.

To activate the Windows XP Firewall

Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
In Control Panel, click Network Connections.
In the Network Connections window, under Network Tasks, click Change Windows Firewall Settings.
In the Windows Firewall dialog box, on the General tab, ensure that On is selected.

Monitor your access points

Chances are that there are multiple wireless networks anywhere you're trying to connect. These connections are all access points, because they link into the wired system that gives you Internet access. So how do you make sure you're connecting to the right one? Simple�by configuring your PC to let you approve access points before you connect.

Configure Windows Vista Access Points

Windows Vista takes the guesswork out of connecting to hotspots because you are automatically prompted to approve new connections. In addition, after you approve a connection, you assign it a profile for future use.

Configure Windows XP Access Points

Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Network Connections.
Right-click Wireless Network Connection, and then clickProperties.
On the Wireless Networks tab, make sure that the Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings check box is selected.
Under Preferred networks, make sure that the name of the network that you want to connect to is highlighted, and then click Advanced.
Click Access point (infrastructure) network only, and then click Close.

Disable file and printer sharing

File and printer sharing is a feature that enables other computers on a network to access resources on your computer. When you are using your mobile PC in a hotspot, it's best to disable file and printer sharing�when it's enabled, it leaves your computer vulnerable to hackers. Remember, though, to turn this feature back on when you return to the office.

Click Network and Internet, and then click Network and Sharing Center.
Under Sharing and Discovery, click the arrow next to File sharing, click Turn off file sharing, and then click Apply.
