How then, to explain the unexplainable.
Is there ever a time when "feeling" ends?
Not simply tactile, or mental.
Numbness...no sensations to twist and bend the truth.

Prayers to a God when you dont even believe in yourself
The simple wish for blessed numbness on a single day
Muscles taut, words defensive
Poised to strike at the instigator of these "feelings"

Easier, perhaps, to wish to be somebody else
Create a new identity that doesn't annoy oneself
Learn to live with the feelings of flesh
Suppressing the lesser (or Greater) of our emotions

This beating heart offers no solace
Each breath measures body and soul
There is no answer from God, or even from your own breath
My heart continues to twist and bend.
