Dear Mum

There comes a time when every girl
Must leave her family home
As every bird must leave the nest
And learn to fly alone
There've been many times I've hurt you
But remember, I've hurt too
I want to live the life I choose
But the hard parts leaving you
You've taught me everything I know
You've shown me right from wrong
You've made me what I am
You've helped me get along
And know I'm all grown up no last
No more a little girl
It's time for me to go out there
Don't worry Mum - I love you
And no matter where I go
I will always be your daughter
And I have to let you know
That although we've fought and argued
Over petty little things
It's just that I was growing up
and had to spread my wuigs
I love you more then ever now
That I'm old enough to see
Just how much you've sacrificed
And what you've given me
It's time for me to say my thanks
For twenty years of love
For even though I'm leaving home
You'll always be my mum
