Consequences of Sin... Consequences of Sin... "I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night—but even in darkness I cannot hide from you [God]. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you." I guess far too many of us knew very well we shouldn't do a certain thing or commit a certain sin, but we did it anyhow because we thought no one was watching. We may not have seen the immediate effects but we always reap what we sow—even if it is eventually. Furthermore, acting wrong too often because no one is watching can easily become a habit. As George Dana Boardman wisely said, "Sow an act ... reap a habit; Sow a habit ... reap a character; Sow a character ... reap a destiny." The reality is that we can never hide from God. He sees all. He knows all. And he judges all unless we receive his forgiveness. |
